Game Tester Salary – What Can You Earn As a Games Tester? – Industry Gaming

Games tester is probably at the top of many people’s list of dream jobs, but does the reality really live up to the dream? More specifically, what exactly does a career in game testing involve, and what sort of salary can a games tester expect? Most people think that being a game tester involves little more than playing games all day, and while in essence that is at least partially true (a typical games tester will spend 6 or more hours play testing games each day) there is certainly more to it.The first thing to realise is that testing a game is very different to playing a game for fun. Testing is very repetitive, and often involved playing through the same section or level over and over again many times in order to find and remove bugs, and then again to ensure that those old bugs don’t return.Secondly, while a tester needs to take careful notes while play testing a game, logging their findings so they can report back to the development team. That’s where the game tester’s other main skill is required – communication. It’s essential for a games tester to have great communication skills, so they can relay their findings back to the developers in order to fix bugs and make improvementsSo, while testing isn’t quite the same as having a session on your favorite game with your friends, it certainly does involve a lot of game playing. That leads us to the next question – what does the average games tester earn?Game tester salaries vary depending on a number of variables, but mostly on experience and the amount of time committed, as well as which development company you work for. Compared to some jobs in the games industry game tester wages are relatively quite low. However, many game testers choose to work as freelancers, from home, reporting their bugs back to the development team by email and telephone. This type of testing position is often performance based, and a good tester can earn up to $80 per hour, although most earn considerably less than that. However, even at only $20 – $30 per hour, that’s still an attractive income for getting paid to play games, and getting a “foot in the door” to potentially more lucrative positions in the games industry.

What Video Game Testers Actually Do For Their Job – Industry Gaming

Video game testers are often perceived as not having to endure the normal work requirements found in most jobs – that they are not required to work on a regular basis in an office or company workspace; that they get to make a great deal of money while playing games and telling people that they are having fun while doing so. The truth isn’t quite so idealistic or glamorous. However, for those that are willing to work hard and put in the effort to develop their career, becoming a video game tester can be the best decision they ever made.Game testers have jobs that enable them to make an excellent living – top testers earn up to 80k to 100k a year once they have racked up several years of experience and have advanced in their testing and technical expertise. Though entry level wages are closer to 15-20 and hour, for those that stick with it and make a serious effort at building a career as a professional video game tester, the rewards are great. While video game testers have great jobs, and while they are not like most of your typical 9-5 workers, they do in fact have to get up each day, go to the office or testing lab and work on whatever projects have been assigned to them by their test leads – and projects almost always entail tight deadlines, particularly in the game and software industry. Game testers must exercise and test games rather than simply play them, and demonstrate that as professionals, they can go through a set test of test cases and scenarios, following specific configurations and processes, to test the game thoroughly and expose as many bugs as possible. This process makes video game testers one of the most critical roles in the gaming industry. Video game testers contribute directly to the process and success of creating a game that is fun, playable, and functions precisely as it was designed to function. For anyone interested in becoming a full time video game tester, the process starts by making sure they are ready for everything the career asks of them. Video game testers essentially learn to analyze something that is supposed to be entertainment. Video game testers work closely with various different builds of a game, writing down every bug that you encounter as you play the game and preparing various reports that will tell the other people involved in the creation of the game what you have encountered.Game testers follow close protocols for how to test and report bugs and then repeat the process whenever a new build is released. Then may spend hours working on one menu or days on one level and when the deadlines get tight, they are often expected to work long hours. However, what draws so many people to becoming a game tester is that they will often get to work in the same offices as the people behind the biggest and best new games on the market. They will be able to learn from the best testers and programmers in the industry. In due time, video game testers gain valuable experience and, if they choose, are able to establish a long-term career for themselves that moves beyond testing into roles such as game design, programming, QA management, graphic arts, or even the producer.

How to Play Video Games Responsibly – Industry Gaming

First off, I will admit that I was once a video game addict. It first starts when you buy your first console. A person, especially children, will play their game systems for hours on end when they first acquire a gaming system. At first, this seems like no big deal, but this ‘game binging’ develops into something far worse. As new gamers progress, they begin to make time for video games. An example of this would be setting a time to finish homework so that a game could be played. Tip number one is: NEVER make time to play a video game. Let down time be time to play video games. If you let the game create its own time in your life, you are in essence allowing it to take over.MMORPGs are perhaps the most addictive of video games. You can spend hours playing WoW or Runescape, but never actually get to the level or place you wanted to. This leads to overplaying and in turn addictive behavior. Tip number two is: Set reasonable in-game goals in order to maintain a positive experience and also keep your time under control. When you have everything under control with gaming, it will not feel like a job, but rather a pastime or hobby. You will feel no huge desire to play because it is no big deal to you. When all is said and done, if you still have a feverish addiction to gaming, my solution is: just become a video game tester or get a job within the industry. Game testers are not considered addicts because they work within the industry. You don’t even have to be a pro or master to become one. They get paid well as you progress through the gaming industry and gain experience. Why not try it out if you have an uncanny penchant for gaming. Work at Gamestop if you have a passion for gaming because others will be glad to listen to you for advice.Video game addiction is becoming serious business as the numbers of gamers keeps growing worldwide. Do not lose your sense of reality and remember my two main tips to keeping it under control: never make time to play a game and set reasonable in-game goals. Play on gamers!

Video Game History – Do You Remember Pac Man, Space Invaders, and Super Mario Brothers? – Industry Gaming

Of all the things that the 1970’s produced, there are few that made as big of a cultural impact as video games. There’s no question about it: video games have been a significant force in society and one of the most popular leisure pursuits. Chances are if you’re under the age of 40, you played them, some of us a lot. There was Atari, Intellivision and Colecovision. Don’t forget Sega and Nintendo. Today there are web sites that allow you to download free online games. And if you remember those days of the late ’70’s and early 80’s, you recall that the games relied on graphic improvements and better ways of shooting the enemy. It was more or less a solitary pursuit. With the rise of the Internet and online games however, lots of things changed, including the ability to download games and playing online games, making games a more social activity, with lots of players, or opponents playing each other from different countries. This may be the biggest change – and the latest benefit that games have offered the world. But what about the early days? How did it all start and what were the video games that defined the era? The InnovatorsMany people think that Pong was the home game that started it all, but really it was Magnavox and their “Odyssey” system in 1972. Although it was very simple, it was still the first. It had twelve simple games with graphic overlays. However, there was lots of room for improvement, and that’s where Pong came into play.Nolan Bushnell created Pong, along with Al Alcorn, the founder of Atari. Rumor has it that when the prototype was tested at a California bar, the machine broke down after two days, because it was so popular. The next logical step was to create a home version. So, one year later, Atari released Pong, complete with built in paddles, and a speaker. Of course, Pong was a huge success and represented a new stage in the evolution of gaming. Over sixty Pong knock-offs would be produced, but Atari dominated the market.Next was the implementation of the microprocessor, which the entire industry adopted. As a result of this, more complicated systems could be developed. These systems produced groundbreaking and innovative graphical and auditory effects that had never been seen before. Consumers were eating it up. The industry was on fire. In 1981 alone, five billion dollars were spent on video arcade machines and another billion dollars was spent on home video game systems. Atari’s VCS/2600 system remained the dominant player through 1982, when the gaming market experienced a crash. What were some of the great games? How about Pac Man? Pac Man, the yellow blob that ate up dots and avoided squid-like ghosts, was a worldwide sensation and probably the biggest game of all time.Space Invaders was another incredibly popular game. In fact, it really marked a turning point for arcade games, bringing them out of bars and into family friendly places like shops and restaurants. The premise of Space Invaders was to stop an alien invasion. This simple formula went on to become the most successful arcade game of all time. Then there was Super Mario, which was huge as well. It involved an Italian anti-hero who was deliberately designed as a character that everyone could relate to. Soon thereafter came Zelda, Metroid, and other classics. Rise and Fall of Atari Atari was the hottest thing in the gaming world in the early ’80’s. Today, they are a relic of past glory. So what happened? Atari made some bad decisions, and although it’s a little complicated, it’s helpful to understand the situation. At that time in the computing world, magnetic mediums were implemented in the data storage used in Arcade machines. These mediums allowed for a higher memory capacity than ROM cartridges. In 1982, Atari had the option to include a disk drive in their systems. The price difference would have been nominal, and the memory capacity would have been significant. Atari, however, thought that magnetic media was too “fragile” for the consumer to adequately handle. Atari’s “concern” for the customer backfired on them. In the previous years, there had been a very fine line separating arcade game quality from home game quality. With arcades utilizing storage capacities ten to forty-five times larger than home systems that fine line became a chasm. Arcade games seemed to be evolving exponentially, while home systems seemed “stuck in a time warp.”The public quickly became uninterested in video game specific consoles, and sales plummeted. This would mark the end of Atari’s reign of the video game market. The Rise of the NewIn 1984, everything changed. The reason? Two innovations: The reduction in cost of Dynamic RAM (DRAM) chips which allowed more memory, and the production of higher power 8-bit processors, which lowered the prices of the previous chips. Sega, a new player in home gaming systems, entered the console market with their Master System 2. The Sega Master system would sell very well, but its success would be limited. The other key player was Nintendo of Japan. The genius of Nintendo was their marketing prowess, as they poured millions into advertisements. These advertisements hit consumers at the perfect time, as evidenced in their sales. In fact, Nintendo couldn’t manufacture enough systems to keep up with demand. After all was said and done, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) would become the highest selling system in history. They would also become the most notorious, as they were involved in the intimidation of retailers, competing companies, and other suppliers and partners.Over the next five years Sega and Nintendo would battle for dominance, going back and forth. The consumer definitely benefited from this rivalry.Today, it’s between PlayStation 2, the Xbox and the GameCube. Xbox has taken the step to merge the past and present, where Xbox “Live Arcade” is a console system that has a “download-like” characteristic where you can buy games via the console itself. One thing in the video game industry will always remain: the classic games of yesterday were great games, helped define an era, and will always be fun.

Social Networking Games – How To Build And Keep Your Customer Base – Industry Gaming

Social networking games offer an exciting business opportunity for those with the know-how and perseverance to tackle this industry. The initial investment required is minimal if you possess the skills to create your basic game, and there’s an excellent possibility of it being a good earner. Some would say that the market for social networking games is saturated, but a bit of research will soon show otherwise. The gaming community is fluid, with many people more than happy to try out something new. Most gamers don’t limit their play to just the one game, and if they like your product, they’ll invest their time and frequently their money. It’s no longer frowned upon to spend money on online games. It’s seen as purchasing entertainment, similar to an evening at the cinema or a Saturday night at a club. Once a potential customer bonds with your product, perhaps even gets emotionally invested in their character, the chances are high that they’ll be willing to spend, not only to improve their character or statistics, but also to help the game grow and blossom for all users.Like any industry, it has its traps and pitfalls. Games that did well for over a year can suddenly see a drop in users and developers can be left wondering what happened. Analysis of the social networking games industry reveals that there are a few key issues any developer should be aware of, and that there are steps one can take to maintain a lively, loyal community of users.• If you introduce a premium currency (to be purchased with money), it’s important to also establish a regular in-game currency that can be earned through active game play. This regular currency will help the user to connect with the product and to progress through the game in a satisfactory manner. Once the player feels involved, chances are that they’ll feel justified in the purchase of the premium currency.• Good customer service is key. This is all the more true in the fluid gaming community. Word spreads fast if customer service is lacking, diminished trust in the product will cause users to move to other games, and where users play, their friends and family tend to follow. Players will actually recommend games with good customer service, thus increasing their amount of active users.• If your game offers polls and surveys through which users can earn an amount of premium currency, it is crucial to make certain that the companies linked with these polls and surveys are reliable. If you expose your users to the risk of a scam, your company’s reputation will be harmed.• A healthy community of gamers is important. It’s recommended to provide this community with a place to socialize, share feedback and suggestions on the game, and to offer them a platform of communication with the developers and representatives of your company. The more interaction between players, the greater the attachment they’ll feel to your product, the better the chance that they will stick around.• Communication is essential. If there’s a glitch in the game, or an event hasn’t been received as well as anticipated, communication helps to smooth any ruffled feathers. It’s recommended that this communication involves as little “spin” as possible. Genuine, straightforward, honest communication tends to be received well.• Make your customers feel that you care, not only about your product but also about the community. Provide them with events (but do give them a breather every now and again, as everyone has offline lives to attend to), take note of their feedback and suggestions, and implement them where practical. Gamers love to feel involved.• Avoid irritants such as pop-ups wherever possible. Pop-ups tend to hinder game play and can lose you customers.• Be sensitive with people’s data, and make certain that your game is secure. Hackers, viruses and bots tend to chase away customers like nothing else. People need to feel safe when playing your game. They also need to feel their investment is worth it, so if premium items can be cloned, it will create discontent.• Don’t underestimate the intelligence of your users. Social gamers come from all walks of life, and amongst them will be university graduates, doctors, teachers, lawyers, teenagers and grandmothers. It’s important to keep this in mind, because some companies think that dumbing down is the key to success. Respect your customers, and they will respect you in turn.Creating a social networking game is a challenge, but it can be very worthwhile. The creative flow between the games’ community and its developers can be truly inspiring, and it might very well take your product to levels you never imagined.

A Story for the Australian Automotive Industry – Industry Gaming

Introduction to the TopicAustralia is one of only a few countries with the capabilities to design cars from scratch and manufacture in significant volumes. Car sales in Australia are also an important factor of the Australian Automotive Industry and the Australian Economy in total. The Australian Auto Industry (A.A.I. in short) can be divided into two interrelated sectors, the Production ( Manufacturing) sector and the Car Sales (or Import-Sales) sector, both equally important for the total performance of the A.A.I. On one hand, the Manufacturing sector refers to the market conditions under which Australian Manufacturing businesses compete, by producing vehicles and related products, with the main aim of maximizing profits. On the other hand, the Sales sector refers to the market conditions under which car representative sale businesses compete, by the sale of cars and related products, having the same aim with businesses within sector one.It is very important to state the distinction between these two sectors within the A.A.I., as we will be talking about two different market structures, business strategies, competition conditions, e.t.c. In order to analyse these market structures it would be appropriate to develop two economic models, one for each A.A.I. sector.1.1-Analyzing the Manufacturing SectorThere is only one market structure that can best describe the market conditions in the Manufacturing sector if A.A.I., this is Oligopoly. As there are only two organizations that produce cars in Australia, and these are Ford and Holden, the competition methods and pricing strategies are based between these two organizations. The following economic model shall help define the competition and economic conditions for the Australian Automotive Manufacturing market. The first important characteristic of Oligopoly that needs to be stated is that prices between competitors tend to be “sticky”, which means that they change less frequently than any other market structure. This statement will be explained in more detail later on, when we will be developing the Game-Theory model, as it is a very important concept of competition. The second most important characteristic is that when prices do change, firms are likely to change their pricing policies together. These two characteristics can boost up competition within the market. Firms will either try to match rivals’ price changes or ignore them. This is depended on the Game-Theory that is explained bellow. However, the recent market conditions for the Australian Automotive Industry and the actions of the Australian Government have worsen the competition conditions and possible pricing options available for firms in the market. The production and maintenance costs for a manufacturing business in Australia are already high and rising, mostly due to lack of economic resources and advance of technology. That is, as Holden and Ford try to compete each other, given that prices tend to be “sticky”, they are forced to focus on technological advantage and marketing. Both of these business sectors produce high costs. Furthermore, the Australian government has made it clear that is unwilling to further subsidize automotive organizations in the market. All these factors stated above produce a negative effect on the competitiveness of both firms. In other words, rising costs alongside with decreased revenue push firms in experiencing lower and decreasing levels of profitability.Profitability and the level of competitiveness are highly interrelated in an oligopolistic market structure, being the two most important factors, alongside with product differentiation, in the competition policies that the firms follow. When we say that the level of competitiveness of a firm is very low, we mean that the firm cannot react effectively to any price changes or competition changes or even changes in production costs. This may leave the firm depended on its’ competitor’s pricing and competition actions, not being able to affect the market competitiveness at all. The firm is then exposed to external danger and can be pushed out of the market, or even worse to shut production and declare bankrupt.1.2- The Game-Theory Model for OligopolyThe Game Theory model is used to explain the pricing and competition policies of firms in an oligopolistic market structure. Furthermore, it can show the few different competition policies based on pricing that the two firms can follow, that is High and Low as stated above. All firms in this market structure follow a Game-Theory model, although it is surely more detailed than our example, in the process of trying to forecast competitors’ pricing and competition movements and also keep track of the competition levels in the market and market share. But how does this happen? For example, let’s say that there are four different fields, each divided in half. These fields represent the pricing strategies that Holden and Ford may use in the process of competing each other. Field A and C represent a High-Pricing policy for Holden, while fields A and B represent a High-Pricing policy for Ford. Lastly, fields B and D represent a Low-Pricing policy for Holden, while fields C and D represent a Low-Pricing policy for Ford. When both firms decide to follow a High-Pricing policy they share a profit of, let’s say, $12 million. If Holden decided to move to a Low-Pricing policy it will experience a maximum of $15 million profit, while Ford’s profitability will fall to $6 million. The exact opposite may also occur, while if both firms decided to follow a Low-Pricing policy they would realize a maximum of $8 million of profit. What we can identify from the above example is that firms in an oligopolistic competitive market rarely change their pricing policies because this may produce a negative effect on their profitability levels. However, Holden and Ford, being the only two firms in the Australian Automotive Industry, they will focus on competing through product differentiation and marketing. That is, they will try to compete by differentiating their products, for example by producing vehicles with different features, or even base their production on technological advantage. Marketing plays an important role here, as it is the main tool that delivers and connects the customer with product. For example, if Holden introduces a new driving technology that improves driving experience and safety and produces this technology alongside with a newly designed vehicle, it is quite likely that Holden will effectively differentiate its newly designed vehicle from a relative vehicle of Ford and lure more customers in the store. Holden may also use marketing techniques to deliver this technology to the public, in the form of knowledge; hence try to boost sales without changing its pricing policy. However, it is important to state that this new technology may produce higher production costs, if not evaluated properly; hence Holden can only rely in increasing its market share to gain greater profitability. The sales part, however, will be analyzed in more extend within the next chapter of this report. The Game-Theory is not just a theory for the Automotive Industry in Australia, it’s a fact. It shows us that auto manufacturers in Australia have based their competition strategies on all the factors stated above and as much as they possibly can on pricing strategies. They may advertise that they have low prices, but in fact their prices are very stable. If we have a close look at Holden’s or Ford’s websites, we will identify that there is a huge variety of products and each firm competes in that. However, the new market conditions stated before have greatly changed the way auto manufacturers think of the future and this in turn may change their pricing and competition policies, or even determine their existence in the market.2.1- Analyzing the Import/Sales SectorWhile the auto manufacturers are considered to be operating in an oligopolistic market structure, importing and selling vehicles or relative products is a different story. The import and sale of vehicles is the second and equally important business sector of the Australian Automotive Industry. There are many different car selling businesses and we shall only consider first-hand sales, as second-hand sales in general are not included in economics and more specifically in GDP measurements. To enter the industry hard at all as there are not many barriers to entry, however someone who is interested needs to consider of the high costs in setting up an automotive dealership. All businesses in this market are mostly based on product differentiation to compete and while prices are not “sticky”, pricing competition is set up by the market mechanism and tends not to be considered a regular phenomenon. Lastly, cost analysis and cost management play a very important role. All of the above characteristics refer to the Monopolistic Competition Market Structure. In this market structure we will focus on two phases, the short-run phase and the long-run phase, each with different competition characteristics and outcomes. An important factor that we need to state here is that when the costs of developing a vehicle in the manufacturing sector rise, then the cost for selling the vehicle for a dealership may rise as well. This is always depended of course on if the vehicle was produced in Australia and if it was produced overseas, under what economic conditions was it produced. Price might be “sticky” for manufacturers, however prices will change much easier in this sector if needs be. Here firms will change their pricing policies if costs either rise or fall and this is always depended on the market mechanism. The amount of competitiveness along with the amount of price elasticity of demand will depend on how many rivals the monopolistic competitive firm will have to face.In such market the following situation is very common, a situation that helps us distinct between short-run and long-run:Stage OneIn this stage the firm experiences economic profits. However, this fact will draw new firms in the market causing the profits to be competed away.Stage TwoThe economic losses indicated in this stage will cause many firms to exit the market, as they cannot keep selling under these market conditions.Stage ThreeIn the final stage, the market clears-up, or reaches equilibrium point. As all firms that needed to exit the market have done so, the market mechanism comes to the point where no economic profits/losses are realized by the firms. This is the point where the market is most stable.Studying the situation above we can identify one very important fact for any monopolistic competitive firm in the Australian Automotive Industry/ Sales sector. That is that in this market structure, in the long run, firms will realize only normal profits and the market mechanism will eventually reach an equilibrium point. Hence, in the long-run firms will compete mostly through product differentiation. However, in the short run firms may experience economic profits or losses and this is what causes firms to enter or exit the market and “shows” firms how to compete and when to apply pricing competition policies.ConclusionThe Australian Automotive Industry may be experiencing rough market conditions, mostly because there is no more government support; however competition and profit maximization is still possible. Thinking of moving overseas is not always a good option for the manufacturing businesses, as the Australian Economy needs the manufacturing sector, as it represents a reasonably big part of GDP.
Market competition conditions are well defined for every manufacturer or car dealership, hence any business in the market ought to use the available to them competition strategies and achieve higher market share and profitability level or stabilize its profitability levels. Either way, these are the main goals for almost every profit-motivated business in any market type under any market structure. However, every business ought to define the market structure that is operating in, so that it can then clearly define its goals, strategies and policies. The market mechanism is in all cases responsible for all the above strategies and most of the cases responsible for setting up pricing policies or indicating pricing and marketing strategies.

Fun Free Online Games & Social Networking – Industry Gaming

Computer and video games have become very popular. In particular the interest in playing fun free online games over the internet is increasing strongly.Despite the growing popularity of YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook, gaming remains the king of online entertainment, driven largely by casual gaming activities.Sites like Yahoo Games and EA’s Pogo.com offer users access to a wealth of advertisement supported free online games, where sponsors have options for branding opportunities, and display and banner ad placements.Online games on the consoles could become a $10.5 billion business by 2011 from $981 million in 2007, according to market researcher IDC.In 2007, online console revenue is at 2.5% of total global video game market revenue, including console and handheld hardware and software revenue. By 2011, revenue from connected consoles will represent 18.6% of total market revenue.Although subscription revenue for premium online services and games will grow from $476 million in 2007 to over $2.4 billion in 2011, its share of online console revenue will decline from 48.5% in 2007 (already down from a high of 86.5% in 2006) to 23.2% by 2011.Downloadable content (DLC) consisting of games and game-related items, which at $35 million in 2006 represented a 13.5% market share of online console revenue, will become connected consoles’ primary revenue source in 2007, growing from $493 million in 2007 to $7.2 billion in 2011. In 2011, game-centric DLC will make up 68.6% of online revenue.Advertising revenue from sponsored services, in-game ads, and product placement in connected consoles will reach $12 million in 2007, posting the first significant online console ad spend. Advertising revenue will grow to $858 million in 2011, with an 8.2% market share of online revenue.Video game growth will be strongest in the Asia Pacific region, its largest market, with a 10% annual growth rate through 2011, but will increase in the Europe/Middle East/Africa region (10.2%), the U.S. (6.7%), Canada (9.4%), and Latin America (8.2%) as well.Certain trends hold steady across most regions: For instance, driven by increased penetration of broadband access, online gaming is surging. In the U.S. and Europe/Middle East/Africa, online gaming represents the fastest-growing consumer segment (19.3% and 24.6%, respectively); in Asia Pacific and Canada, online growth came in second only to wireless (at 16.1% and 13.9%, respectively). Other trends are more regional. The in-game advertising market is expected to increase 64% in the U.S. And in China it is expected to rise at a compound annual rate of 14.3% to $2 billion in 2011, most all of that growth will come in online games.Spurred by the new generation of consoles and handhelds, and by increased penetration of broadband and wireless technologies, the video game industry is ripe with opportunity. “Growth in platforms allows you to hit new demographics,” says Stefanie Kane, a partner with PwC’s entertainment and media practice, noting that handheld game devices have brought more women into the market, and that the entrance of cable and on-demand TV channels will further widen the base. “There is a lot of unlocked potential.”You might think the face of one of the hottest areas in gaming right now is a young male in his 20s who owns the latest supercharged gaming system from Microsoft or Sony – or both. But you’d be wrong.Instead, the epitome of the new-era gamer is a woman in her late 30s or early 40s who plays on an average PC.Yes, the video game industry seems to have been turned on its head. For years, the dominant themes have been faster game machines, increasingly realistic graphics, more immersive play, as well as the old standbys – blood, guts and blowin’ stuff up.But that picture has begun to look increasingly outdated. While young men dominate the gaming industry as a whole, casual games are one of the fastest-growing parts of the industry and attracting a whole new demographic. You can find signs of the revolution everywhere. One of the fastest-growing parts of the game industry is centred on so-called casual fun free online games, PC-based titles that users can generally start playing in minutes and usually don’t require the mastery of some combination of multiple buttons to enjoy. The upheaval has spread to the console market, as sales of Nintendo’s Wii console and DS handheld, both of which stress fun-to-play games over powerful processors or realistic graphics, are far outstripping their supercharged competitors from Microsoft and Sony.Revenue streams enabled by active online consoles in this cycle show the strongest growth in the sector and will not only determine the future success of the console vendors but also be crucial to the success of many third-party publishers.Further information on fun free online games and business opportunities combining Online Games and Online Social Networking can be found at my blog.
